We need to teach our girls and women their worth, and how far past their appearance it stretches.

We need to teach our young women, our girls, and eachother, how much further than our looks our worth reaches.

This photo, taken a decade ago, is one that never fails to surprise me whever facebook kindly shows it to me in my “memories”.

I honestly remember believing I was far to big for the dress Im wearing, and barely pulling this look off.

I dont believe that I had any kind of body issues, I just believed I was too big.

I didnt’ imagine it based on how I ate or moved (I pretty much ate how I wanted, andmoved whenever I wanted, oh to be young again!). No, this thought was based on what people said to me, around me, and about me in relation to womens bodies.. That wasn’t a ME problem, that was an US problem. I thought that this sized person was “too big”.

Your body is BEAUTIFUL no matter what shape it is, or what colour or height or weight or whatever. It is a vessel for your beautiful soul. You could tend to her, and manipulate how you nourish her, how you move her, who you consult about her best functioning, but aside and above all of that, your bodys presentation does not represent your value as a human. She moves you around in this experience of the world, and she helps you to recieve signals and understand the environment youre in, and she does that without any contribution of value from how she looks from the outside.

Lets teach our girls, young women and eachother, that we are valuable, no matter what our outsides look like.

We are worthy and beautiful for reasons that reach far, far beyond how we look.

Gentle with you

A
